PerforMet® alloy is a nickel-silicide strengthened bronze that has been optimized for performance powertrain applications. With a combination of high strength and thermal conductivity, low friction, and good wear and corrosion resistance, PerforMet alloy withstands the extreme pressures and temperatures in high performance engines. Combined, these benefits have been used to increase the performance, efficiency and durability of critical engine components.
DLC Coatings
Diamond-like carbon (DLC) coatings are amorphous carbons (a-C:H and a-C:Me based) with extremely low friction coefficients that assist by adding lubricity, which in turn, reduces the pickup of adhesive steel and aluminum particles, and promotes the release of injectable plastic material.
